A jute rug in undyed pale fibre, braided by hand.
Braided is the most distinctive of DAVSU's three silhouettes. Long plaited ropes of jute, sewn by hand in a tight spiral, best seen from above. The construction is most natural in rounds and ovals. Squares are possible. Rectangles are not.

Chalk is the paler natural state of jute, sorted by hand from the raw supply. It is undyed and unbleached. Tone varies slightly between lots.
Vacuum without a beater bar. Spot clean with a dry cloth. Rotate seasonally to even wear.
